Anamnesis is a doctor simulator with honest diagnostics. Every patient has a real illness, sometimes more than one, and almost every sign stays hidden until you ask, examine, or order a test or an X-ray. The game is in development; the screenshots are from the prototype, which is in Russian.

How to play

  • A shift at the clinic. Patients come with and without appointments. The nurse takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure and oxygen saturation and sees urgent patients in first. The map shows who is where: at reception, in the waiting room, at the X-ray, in your office.
  • Examination. Questions about complaints and history, a physical exam, lab tests, X-rays and ECGs — each with its own cost and time. While a test is running, you can send the patient to wait and see the next one; those who wait too long leave.
  • Decision. A diagnosis, a treatment and where to treat: at home, in hospital, or call an ambulance.
  • Review. What it really was, a score for accuracy, justification, thrift and safety, and how an experienced doctor would have reasoned. Patients sent home sometimes get worse and come back, and the end-of-day summary tells you what happened to earlier patients.
  • Campaign. A young doctor at a village clinic. The first shift is with a mentor; after that come letters and tasks without deadlines.
  • Your own hospital. Offices, a lab and an X-ray room, hiring, the cash desk. Insurance pays for a justified diagnosis and for tests that were indicated.

What’s inside

  • 25 conditions a general practitioner sees: from colds and flu to pneumonia, heart attack and appendicitis.
  • X-ray images and ECG strips — different for every patient.
  • Signs don’t always show up and tests are sometimes wrong — as in real life. A diagnosis is a probability, and the review shows how sure an experienced doctor would have been.
  • “What is this?” for every sign and test in plain words, and more in the in-game encyclopedia: conditions, signs, tests and treatment.
  • A doctor profile: practice totals, an archive of recent visits with reviews, and achievements — no deadlines and no streaks.
  • A “Shift” at a hospital of your choice, scored by category, and a “Case of the day” — one patient a day, the same for everyone; any of the last 30 days can be played at any time.
  • Progress moves to another phone as a file.

Questions

How much does it cost?

It’s free, with no ads and no purchases.

Do I need the internet?

No. The game doesn’t even have permission to access the network: it sends nothing anywhere.

Is this a medical app?

No, it’s a game. The medical information in it is simplified and serves the game; it is not a reference, not a self-diagnosis tool and not a substitute for a doctor. If something worries you, see a doctor; in an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Russia and across Europe).

What age is it for?

16+.

What’s next

Coming up: the emergency department and ambulance, wards and the operating room, new departments and campaign chapters. The game is being prepared for release in RuStore for Android, in Russian first. Questions: support@gornitsa.games.

A game. Not a medical device and not a substitute for a doctor’s advice.
